Strong Minds, Strong Moves

Because strong athletes are built from the inside out.

Strong Minds, Strong Moves is a sports mentorship and mental wellness program created to support youth athletes both on and off the field. Designed for the city of Toledo, this community-based program combines mentorship, emotional support, leadership development, and sportsmanship education to help young athletes grow mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Led by former athletes and mentors with mental health training, Strong Minds, Strong Moves focuses on helping youth understand that talent alone is not enough. Discipline, emotional control, confidence, teamwork, accountability, and a strong mindset are all essential parts of becoming successful athletes and leaders.

Whether they are struggling with pressure, anger, confidence, peer influence, frustration after losses, or balancing life outside of sports, Strong Minds, Strong Moves creates a safe and supportive space where athletes can:

• Learn emotional regulation and self-control during competition and conflict.
• Build confidence, leadership skills, and positive decision-making.
• Strengthen sportsmanship, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Talk openly about pressure, stress, goals, and personal growth.
• Receive mentorship from adults who understand both athletics and real-life challenges.

From practices and game-day support to mentorship conversations and guided group activities, every session is designed to help athletes develop the mindset needed to succeed not just in sports, but in life.

Because in Toledo, we’re not just building athletes. We’re building strong minds, strong moves, and stronger futures.

Polished Minds

Polished Minds is a certificate-based nail education program designed to blend beauty, confidence, and creativity in one professional space. Created for beginners and aspiring nail artists, the program teaches hands-on nail skills, sanitation, and design techniques while encouraging self-expression, discipline, and personal growth. At The Healing Minds Collective, we believe mental health deserves to be normalized in real-life spaces, and Polished Minds was created to show that healing, learning, and beauty can all exist together beautifully.

Because healing doesn’t stop with the children — it begins with the parents.

The Healing Room is a structured adult healing and growth program created specifically for parents and caregivers of youth enrolled in The Healing Minds Collective. This program provides a safe, judgment-free space for adults to focus on their own emotional wellness while learning practical tools to navigate everyday life.

Through weekly virtual group sessions, daily check-ins, and twice-monthly in-person meet-ups, participants are supported in building consistency, accountability, and personal growth. The Healing Room focuses on helping parents manage stress, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and develop healthier patterns that positively impact both themselves and their families.

This program also incorporates financial literacy, self-awareness, and life skills to support long-term stability and confidence. Participants are not expected to be perfect — only willing to show up, reflect, and grow.

The Healing Room is offered as a Medicaid-covered support service for eligible adults and includes a monthly participation stipend for those who meet all program expectations.

At its core, The Healing Room is about breaking generational cycles, building stronger individuals, and creating healthier households — one parent at a time.
